12 Days of Drawing--I Mean Christmas

I dedicate my tenth Derby win to my parents. I recently spent Thanksgiving with them, but I spent a great deal of my time working on this design. They weren't hurt, they didn't complain, they didn't even pick on me. Instead, they were excited, helpful, and encouraging. They are two of the most unconditionally loving people I know, and that quality among many others makes me a very fortunate person.

I'm also fortunate to be able to offer you all a Christmas shirt this season. I've always enjoyed this crazy song, but even if it instead drives you crazy, I think and hope you might still enjoy the shirt. You can at least brag about the fact that you would be wearing the entire contents of the song. Woot has given it the title of Aw, And I Didn't Get You Anything (originally Inspired By The Twelve Days of Christmas.)

This thing was tedious to do, but for some unexplainable masochistic or challenge-junkie reason I welcomed it very soon after the theme was announced. Here are a few WIP shots of it:

Initial overall shape:

Fleshing out of characters:

Cleaned up and inked:

Coloring in progress:

Final:

Again, thank you for supporting this. And even though this was one of the most labor intensive designs I've done, it was worth it to be able to contribute to the holiday spirit.

12th Print Confirmed!

I must admit, Cardinal Letter was not a design I expected to be the climax of my print goal; it's been resting at Ink-hound for quite some time--well over 90 days. I am by no means complaining though. It's actually one of my favorites, one of the very few cases I'm satisfied with the use of halftones, and I don't mind that it references Hawthorne either. It will go on sale tonight at midnight at Ink-Hound. If it seduces you, grab it quickly because it will only be available for a week.

As stated before, I will celebrate this being the 12th print by drawing a name from the long list of loyal fans that have tweeted something nice about my blog. That person will receive a shirt of their choice out of these options:

Cardinal Letter
Cats With Weapons (must let me know by today for this one)
Half Full Wins
Spirit of the Stag
Gamer Mother

Spreadshirt designs:
Comfy Pearl
Typical Weekday Morning
Deep Sea Book Light
Candy Coated Sticks of Happiness

There's still time! Like I said before, use Twitter to tweet something nice about my blog, include a link to it, and include the tag #LoopyBlogContest. One entry per person, valid until noon today. This is just my way of thanking those of you who have supported me in so many ways, and have truly helped make it possible for me to obtain this goal.

I just want to say thank you to all of you who helped Big Brother Is Watching You to print at Shirt.Woot! In January, I set myself a goal to have 12 tee shirt prints by the end of the year. I'm happy to say that this is my ninth! I'm thinking about having a contest to celebrate the 12th print so be on the lookout and stay tuned to my blog! Thanks again!
